Insurance Startup Corgi Achieves $1.3 Billion Valuation After Series B

Corgi, an insurance startup, secures a $1.3B valuation after a $160M Series B, just four months post-Series A.

Corgi Reaches Unicorn Status

Insurance startup Corgi has made headlines by achieving a valuation of $1.3 billion, just months after its previous funding round. This remarkable growth comes on the heels of a successful $160 million Series B funding round led by technology investment firm TCV.

Rapid Growth After Series A

Founded in 2024 by Nico Laqua and Emily Yuan, Corgi has quickly established itself within the insurance sector by delivering tailored business insurance solutions. Just four months prior to this latest funding announcement, the company raised $108 million in its Series A round. Now, with a total of $268 million raised, Corgi has entered the ranks of Y Combinator’s unicorns.

Focused Business Insurance Coverage

Corgi provides a variety of business insurance options, including:

  • General liability coverage
  • Cyber liability protection
  • Tech and AI liability insurance

Prominent clients such as Deel and Artisan highlight the growing demand for Corgi's innovative insurance solutions, which are designed to cater to today's evolving business landscape.

New Backers Join the Funding Round

In addition to TCV, several other investors participated in the Series B funding, including Kindred Ventures, Leblon Capital, and First Order Fund. This influx of capital not only reinforces Corgi’s market position but also facilitates its continued growth and product development efforts.

Looking Ahead

Nico Laqua, co-founder of Corgi, announced the funding milestone on LinkedIn, expressing excitement about the company's journey and the substantial backing it has received. As Corgi continues to expand its offerings and client base, the startup is poised for even greater achievements in the competitive insurance market.

Despite the impressive metrics and achievements, Corgi did not respond to immediate requests for further comment regarding these developments.
