Intel Core i9-14900KF Sets New World Overclocking Record at 9.2 GHz
Intel's Core i9-14900KF breaks the overclocking record, reaching 9.2 GHz using liquid helium and advanced cooling techniques.
Intel Core i9-14900KF Breaks Overclocking Record
In a groundbreaking achievement in the world of CPU overclocking, Intel's Core i9-14900KF has successfully reached a staggering frequency of 9.2 GHz. This extraordinary accomplishment surpasses the previous record of 9.1 GHz, which was set in August 2025.
Advanced Cooling Techniques and Specifications
The remarkable feat was made possible through the implementation of extreme cooling techniques involving liquid helium at remarkably low temperatures combined with significant adjustments to the voltage. These conditions are highly atypical for everyday computer usage, emphasizing the extraordinary nature of this achievement.
To achieve this new record, the platform utilized an Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard, complemented by 16 GB DDR5 RAM, and powered by a 1600W power supply. The cooling efficiency was further enhanced with the application of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme thermal paste.
A Glimpse at the i9-14900KF's Capabilities
Typically, the i9-14900KF is designed to boost up to 6 GHz with its 24 cores active, providing a robust performance. However, to break the record, only a single performance core was activated, with all power limits removed, allowing it to reach its maximum possible frequency for a brief duration required for validation purposes.
For many years, AMD held the title for overclocking records with its FX processors, but Intel reclaimed the spotlight with its Raptor Lake series, culminating in this historic performance.
The record-setting achievement not only showcases Intel's engineering prowess but also sets a new benchmark for enthusiasts and overclockers aiming for extreme performance.
