Karim Benzema Praises PSG's Team Play Under Luis Enrique, Urges Real Madrid to Adapt

Karim Benzema admires PSG's teamwork under Luis Enrique, urging Real Madrid to focus on collective play rather than individualism.

Benzema's Praise for PSG

In a recent Instagram live session featuring rapper Rohff, former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema commended the exceptional team play exhibited by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this season under coach Luis Enrique. Highlighting their cohesive style, Benzema referred to PSG as one of the best teams in the world, attributing their success to a well-structured squad.

Effective Substitutions and Team Unity

Benzema remarked on the effectiveness of PSG's substitutions, saying, "You put a starting team on the field, they play well... The coach makes a change at the 60th or 70th minute, and the players who come in offer more than those who started the match." He emphasized that every player knows their role and contribution, showcasing a strong collective spirit.

Contrasting Styles: PSG vs. Real Madrid

The 38-year-old attacker drew a stark contrast between his former club and PSG, noting Real Madrid's current struggles with individualism. “Right now, it's complicated for Madrid because they don't play together as a unit,” he stated. He observed that Madrid's players tend to focus on individual brilliance rather than teamwork, which he believes is essential for success.

Benzema suggested that to improve their game, Real Madrid players should adopt a team-first mentality, saying, "I can shine, no problem, but without you, I can’t shine."

PSG's Current Position and Upcoming Challenges

Currently, PSG leads the Ligue 1 standings, holding a four-point cushion over second-place Lens. They are set to demonstrate their collective strength in an upcoming match against Angers on Saturday, and then will face Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinals on Tuesday. Benzema implied that PSG's model of teamwork is one that Real Madrid could greatly benefit from emulating as they seek to reclaim their status as a top contender in European football.
