At the 4:52 mark of the first period, defenseman Dylan DeMelo found the back of the net, placing Winnipeg in the lead. Bruins Respond with Quick Goals

However, the Bruins did not take long to respond. Just under five minutes later, Hampus Lindholm tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at 9:23, aided by Morgan Geekie and Will Borgen. The momentum shifted further in Boston's favor when rookie James Hagens scored his first NHL goal at 15:20, giving the Bruins a 2-1 lead, assisted by Nikita Zadorov and Mark Kastelic. Despite the Jets outshooting the Bruins 13-8 in the first period, Boston went into the intermission with a 2-1 advantage.

Momentum Swings in the Second Period

The second period saw a rapid turn of events. Early in the frame, Bruins forward Elias Lindholm was penalized for tripping, allowing the Jets to capitalize. Just 16 seconds into the power play, Kyle Connor equalized for Winnipeg, with assists from Gabriel Vilardi and Cole Perfetti.

As the period neared its conclusion, Winnipeg regained the upper hand. Mario Ferraro scored at 19:48, with assists credited to Lowry and Connor, marking the Jets' third goal and leading 3-2 at the end of the second period.

Bruins Rally Late to Force Overtime

In a dramatic third period, the Bruins rallied back. At 18:22, Elias Lindholm scored to bring the game back to a tie at 3-3, assisted by David Pastrnak and Mason Lohrei. This late equalizer set the stage for an intense overtime.

Overtime Heroics

In the extra frame, it was JJ Peterka who sealed the victory for the Bruins, scoring the game-winner at 3:21, with assists from Pastrnak and Zadorov. This exhilarating finish capped off a night where Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman made 30 saves, while Jets goalie Stuart Skinner recorded 26 saves.
