Liverpool and Manchester United Alerted by RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande Stance

RB Leipzig insists Yan Diomande is not for sale, complicating transfer plans for Liverpool and Manchester United amid $117 million offers.

Diomande Not for Sale: Leipzig's Strong Position

RB Leipzig chairman Oliver Mintzlaff has firmly stated that the club will not entertain offers for their star winger Yan Diomande this summer, despite interest from giants Liverpool and Manchester United. This announcement comes as both Premier League clubs were reportedly preparing to make significant bids, potentially exceeding $117 million (€100 million) for the 19-year-old, who has scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists in the current Bundesliga season.

Diomande's Remarkable Rise

Since signing permanently from Leganés last summer, Diomande has shown remarkable growth in performance, establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents in European football. Mintzlaff acknowledges the escalating interest in Diomande, yet he remains adamant about keeping the winger at Leipzig, stating, "If I were the sporting director, I wouldn’t sell this young player who hasn’t even been with us for a full season yet, no matter what price is offered."

Leipzig's Long-term Vision

In his comments, Mintzlaff emphasized the importance of fostering talent like Diomande, suggesting that continued development at Leipzig not only benefits the player but cement's the club's ambitions in the Champions League. He noted, "We want to play in the Champions League. That’s naturally an argument for such a young player to deliver what he’s shown in a second season."

Despite the temptation presented by substantial offers, it appears Leipzig is focused on preserving their key assets to build a competitive side this coming season.

Alternative Options for Premier League Clubs

With RB Leipzig’s resolute refusal to sell, Liverpool and Manchester United may need to pivot towards alternative targets. According to reports, AC Milan's Rafael Leão could be a potential option, with his rumored price being significantly lower than Diomande's asking price. The Portuguese forward is seen as a quality alternative who could bolster either club's offensive lineup.

Other Promising Names in the Market

In addition to Leão, Premier League clubs looking for proven talent might consider Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon. His previous experience in the league makes him an appealing target, though interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich could drive his price up.

Players across Europe also catch the eye of scouts, including Mallorca's Jan Virgili and Athletic Club's Nico Williams, who are both under consideration as teams seek to enhance their attacking capabilities before the transfer window closes.

As the transfer market heats up, Manchester United and Liverpool face an urgent need to identify and secure players who can make an immediate impact on their respective squads.
