MSI to Launch Claw 8 EX AI+ Handheld on June 23

MSI's new Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld will debut on June 23, priced around $1,500, featuring the Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip and enhanced performance.

MSI's Latest Handheld Gaming Device Set for Launch

MSI is gearing up to unveil its newest gaming handheld, the Claw 8 EX AI+, which is set to hit the market on June 23. This premium device is expected to be priced around $1,500, positioning it at the higher end of the handheld gaming market.

Features of the Claw 8 EX AI+

During a recent demonstration event at its headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan, MSI showcased the Claw 8 EX AI+, emphasizing several key specifications that promise to enhance the gaming experience. Central to its appeal is the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip, which is anticipated to provide a significant performance boost compared to previous models.

Notably, the Claw 8 EX AI+ will feature:

  • Up to 32GB of memory
  • An 80Wh battery for extended gameplay
  • An 8-inch touchscreen with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate

In addition to its impressive display and processing capabilities, this handheld will also incorporate an updated SSD design allowing for easy storage upgrades via an M.2 2280 slot. The ergonomic design enhancements promise improved haptics and better-button responsiveness, significantly elevating the user experience.

Price Variability and Competition

While MSI has suggested a price point of around $1,500, it remains to be seen whether alternative configurations will be offered at lower price brackets. Options with reduced memory, storage, or display features may become available, appealing to a broader audience who still crave high-performance handheld gaming.

As the market for high-end portable gaming devices heats up, the Claw 8 EX AI+ is expected to compete fiercely with handhelds from companies like Acer, particularly the Acer Predator Atlas 8, and offerings from OneXPlayer, both also utilizing the Arc G3 Extreme chips.

This anticipated release showcases MSI's dedication to pushing the boundaries in the handheld gaming sector, setting a new benchmark for performance and user engagement.
