NFL Week 2 Injuries: Outlook for Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels

Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels suffered injuries in Week 2, impacting their teams' quarterback situations. Here's what to expect moving forward.

Major Injuries Rock Week 2 of NFL Season

In a challenging Week 2 for several teams, Caleb Williams, quarterback for the Chicago Bears, and Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders, both found themselves dealing with significant injuries. Williams suffered a hamstring strain on a non-contact play, while Daniels dislocated his left elbow after an unfortunate fall.

Injury Details and Impact

Williams, having started every game since being drafted first overall in 2024, was carted off the field after pulling his hamstring during a bootleg play. Coach Ben Johnson characterized his injury as "week to week," hinting at a potential absence of one or two games. Notably, he walked through the locker room without crutches, suggesting a less severe strain.

On the other hand, Daniels’ injury came from a hit where he dislocated his elbow while attempting to break his fall after getting stepped on by an offensive lineman. This marks the fourth major injury since the last season for Daniels and poses a prolonged recovery period due to the recurrence of elbow issues.
