Inadequate Pressure on Quarterback

"We didn't pressure the guy at all, as far as getting some pressure on him. Good players like that, an NFL quarterback, is going to beat you," Rodriguez remarked.

He mentioned that the defense did manage to create a few pressures, resulting in a tipped pass, but acknowledged the overall lack of consistent pressure that could have changed the game's dynamic.

On the offensive front, Rodriguez acknowledged that execution was also problematic. "Offensively, we can't get a first down. We have one yard to get. I don't know what was happening," he said, referring to missed opportunities during key moments.

Rodriguez noted the challenges in executing plays and how that compounded their difficulties throughout the game. He highlighted that the team could not shift gears, particularly when they fell behind by two scores, making a comeback increasingly challenging.

He mentioned the need to figure out what works best for his players on both offense and defense. "We got a lot of new players playing a new system. And so, we got to figure—still figure out what our guys do well," he explained.

"In my opinion, that's poor coaching if we don't [have a plan]. Evidently today, we still didn't figure out what's—what our guys can do well because there—we did not do things well today," Rodriguez concluded, advocating for an immediate reassessment of the team's strategy and execution to turn their fortunes around.
