SiMa.ai, a pioneering startup in the field of AI chips, has announced a successful $150 million Series C funding round, elevating its valuation to an impressive $1.45 billion. This funding will bolster the company's efforts to create on-device AI processing solutions that can revolutionize how robots and cameras operate efficiently.
Funding Partners and Future Goals
The Series C round was co-led by Fidelity Management & Research and Amplify, with contributions from other notable investors including Alter Venture Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, and StepStone Group. The capital raised will enable SiMa.ai to further its mission of developing energy-efficient chips that significantly reduce reliance on cloud-based data processing.
Founded in 2018 by Krishna Rangasayee, former COO of the chip manufacturer Groq, the company aims to deliver low-latency, cost-effective AI processing solutions. SiMa.ai's chips are designed to cater to a growing market for physical AI devices, encompassing technologies such as humanoid robots and autonomous drones, that require advanced AI capabilities directly on the device.
Company Growth and Market Positioning
Since its inception, SiMa.ai has garnered over $500 million in total funding, highlighted by its previous Series B round in July 2025, where it achieved a valuation of $960 million after raising $85 million. The startup's strategy focuses on providing an affordable alternative to existing solutions, such as NVIDIA's GPUs, setting it on a promising path to capture a significant share of the AI chip market.
