Synthesia Expands AI Training Horizon with Interactive Roleplay Sessions
Synthesia's new Roleplay Sessions allow employees to practice crucial conversations with AI avatars, transforming corporate training strategies.
Transforming Corporate Training with AI
Innovative AI startup Synthesia has unveiled its latest offering, Roleplay Sessions, which promises to revolutionize corporate training by allowing employees to engage in realistic practice sessions with AI avatars. This new product aims to elevate conventional training methods that predominantly rely on static video content by incorporating interactive experiences that foster behavioral change.
A New Approach to Learning
According to Synthesia CEO Victor Riparbelli, traditional corporate training often fails to cultivate genuine learning outcomes. "Video performs way better than text or sending out a document," Riparbelli noted, emphasizing that the most effective learning occurs through active practice. Roleplay Sessions enable employees to simulate high-stakes conversations—ranging from sales pitches to performance reviews—while receiving real-time feedback and assessments based on a set rubric.
This product marks the first rollout under Synthesia's broader “Sessions” platform, which the company intends to expand to include other scenarios such as job interviews and candidate evaluations. The move reflects a strategic pivot from merely content generation to delivering measurable training effectiveness.
Targeting Enterprises First
Initially tailored for enterprise clients, Roleplay Sessions is gaining traction among major players in the industry. Synthesia has already partnered with top-tier companies, including one of Europe’s largest corporations and a leading global recruitment firm, to implement these interactive training sessions.
Riparbelli explains that the tool not only enhances training engagement but also provides management with crucial data insights. By analyzing interactions between employees and AI role players, companies can gain detailed perspectives on their workforce’s performance and developmental needs. "If you have your entire sales team practice with an AI role player, you can get very granular data on how your sales force is doing overall," Riparbelli highlighted.
Looking Ahead
The initial focus on enterprise customers does not deter Synthesia from its vision to extend its offerings to small businesses and educational institutions in the near future. With AI inference costs decreasing, the accessibility of Roleplay Sessions is expected to broaden, potentially changing how various sectors approach employee training.
Riparbelli believes that products like Roleplay mark the next evolution of AI applications in the workplace, shifting focus towards measuring business outcomes rather than merely showcasing technology in demonstrations. As enterprises increasingly scrutinize their AI investments, the commitment to proving effective training solutions will be paramount, making Synthesia’s innovative approach more relevant than ever.
