UAE Educational Institutions Ready for Gradual Return to In-Person Learning

UAE announces educational institutions are ready for a gradual return to in-person learning, prioritizing safety and training.

UAE's Plan for In-Person Learning Resumption

Dubai: The UAE's Education, Human Resources, and Community Development Council has confirmed that the nation’s educational institutions are ready to gradually resume in-person learning. This significant step follows a thorough assessment of safety measures and operational readiness.

Key Measures Announced

To ensure a smooth transition back to physical classrooms while prioritizing the health and safety of students, families, and educational staff, the council has outlined several essential measures:

  • Gradual Reopening of Nurseries: Starting this week, nurseries will begin to reopen, beginning with those located in government facilities and commercial buildings. Others will be allowed to offer home-based childcare services in compliance with approved protocols.

  • Updates on Learning Modalities: Parents and guardians can expect detailed announcements regarding the resumption of in-person or continued remote learning on April 15, 2026. The Ministry of Education and pertinent higher education authorities will communicate these updates through official channels to ensure that families receive accurate and timely information.

  • Training Programs for Staff: Comprehensive training programs will be implemented across all educational levels, including nurseries, schools, and universities, according to directives from relevant authorities. This initiative aims to prepare staff adequately for the new teaching environment and safety protocols.

  • Field Evaluations by Authorities: Local education authorities and relevant ministries will conduct field evaluations to confirm that educational institutions are fully prepared to welcome students back safely.

  • Guidance for Transitioning Learning Modes: The council is also developing a clear framework to facilitate seamless transitions between in-person and remote learning as needed, thereby ensuring educational continuity amidst evolving circumstances.

Prioritizing Safety and Continuity

The overarching goal of these measures is to safeguard the well-being of all participants in the educational process while maintaining high standards for teaching and learning during these unprecedented times. The council continues to monitor the situation closely and will adapt its strategies as necessary to respond to public health guidelines and community needs.
