Ultrahuman Introduces Photon Device Featuring Advanced Red Light Therapy
Ultrahuman's Photon device integrates red light therapy, personalized to enhance wellness based on users' sleep and recovery data.
Ultrahuman Expands Wellness Offerings with New Device
Ultrahuman has officially unveiled its latest product, the Photon device, which incorporates red light therapy into its suite of wellness tools. Priced at $249, Photon is designed to synchronize with Ultrahuman’s popular smart rings, offering personalized therapy based on individual recovery and sleep data.
Enhancing Wellness Through Technology
The inclusion of red light therapy comes amid a growing trend in wellness and recovery technologies. Red light therapy is favored for its noninvasive nature and potential benefits, such as promoting collagen production and aiding muscle recovery.
Mohit Kumar, CEO of Ultrahuman, stated that the Photon device takes personalization to a new level in red light therapy. "Photon adds another layer to Ultrahuman's full-stack health ecosystem, offering structured daily guidance to support your wellness routine, personalized to your recovery data when used with Ultrahuman Ring," Kumar explained.
Features of the Photon Device
The Photon device leverages dual-wavelength light therapy, emitting red light at 660 nanometers and near-infrared light at 850 nanometers. Experts note that these wavelengths are effective in promoting collagen growth and reducing inflammation, crucial for muscle recovery and overall skin health.
Adding to its user-friendly design, the lightweight Photon device weighs approximately 600 grams (1.3 pounds) and is rechargeable via a USB-C cable. Ultrahuman reports that it can operate for up to six sessions before requiring a charge and features a convenient 10-minute auto shutoff function.
Guided Protocols and App Integration
Photon offers four guided protocols through the Ultrahuman app: Glow Ritual, Deep Restore, Wind-Down, and Morning Activation, each designed to target specific needs such as skin care or improved sleep. The app not only provides instructions on how to use the device but also recommends optimal times and distances for usage.
Additionally, Ultrahuman plans to offer an app add-on, known as the Photon Protocol Powerplug, free for users of both versions of its smart rings, enhancing the utility of the Photon device.
Regulatory Path and Availability
Ultrahuman is actively working to assure compliance with regulations in the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union. A representative confirmed that the Photon device will not require FDA clearance, as it falls under the category of general wellness products rather than medical devices.
The Photon device is now available for pre-order, with Ultrahuman looking to reinforce its position in the personalized wellness market alongside its existing range of smart rings, which had briefly exited the US market due to a patent dispute. With the introduction of Photon, Ultrahuman continues to innovate its offerings in health and wellness technology.
